Hi,
Last 10 days ago, handy shower extension in my parent's bathroom basted at night. When I woke up at 6 o'clock in the morning I found out all the water are flood from that bathe room and flow outside of that room and sunk into the sub floor and then flow onto first floor hardwood floor then sunk into the sub floor and flow down to garage. I suck out all the clean water from the carpet and dry within 2 days. There is no stain on the ceiling of first floor but hardwood floor is curved a little bit at the end of each one. There is visible stain in the garage ceiling because there are insulation in the sub floor between garage and family room. I'm planning to remove the garage finish ceiling and take out all insulation and exchange with new then redo the ceiling.
I want to know which is do I need to take out dry wall between basement and garage that has insulation? Do I need to remove those insulation too? Thanks. - allen
